What if your purpose isn't just one thing? What if there are several elements that compose your purpose, and when you try to work on each, you get spread too thin or you lose focus and end up not doing any elements well?

What I like to do is pick the top 3 major life areas I want to focus on for the year. For me, my three are:

  • Growing my business

  • Love & family

  • Personal development

I then break each one down into the 1-2 top actions/habits I want to work on regularly. Like this:

Growing my business

  • Increase visibility by writing and sharing more of my blog posts

Love & family

  • Be a better listener and more present when spending time with family

  • Get better at clearly asking for the things I'd like in my relationship

Personal development

  • Drink 6 glasses of water a day

  • Listen to 1-2 podcasts a week

Each one of those sub bullets can be broken down into tasks and projects. But ultimately, I'm managing and tracking against this list of 3-6 sub bullets.

And these 3-6 sub bullets should be habits you think will create the strongest, fastest impact towards fulfilling your goal.

What are your top 3 priorities for the year? What are the sub bullets that will seriously move the needle on each priority the most?
