You do great work, the clients you have gotten here and there adore you and what you do. They even come back to you from time to time. You know your offer and results are solid. You know your business could bring in more stable income. You just need more of these clients.

Or maybe you have what you considered a year ago a full roster of clients, and now you're realizing that you could take on so many more.

When clients work with you, they love the benefits they receive. So the question is, how do I get more clients to work with me? To do that, your clients:

  • First need to know you exist

  • They need to get comfortable with you, and

  • They need to know you offer real value with integrity

This is the typical: Know, Like,Trust marketing formula.

If you're looking for more adoring clients and to prove to yourself that you can build a business you're proud of, here are some marketing ideas for you to consider that touch on each aspect of this formula!

1. Are you giving away enough free GOLD? (We're talking business alchemy here)

You probably nourish your audience with free content regularly. But are you showering them with some of your best stuff?

The people I happily purchased from are the ones who offered something so valuable, I couldn't believe they offered it for free.

I don't buy immediately, but I usually do within 6-8 months. That whole time in between? I'm following them and their content. Every time they offer GOLD for free, I trust them even more and get glued even tighter.

2. Are you sharing content frequently enough?

Are you posting content often enough to pop up in the news feeds of potential clients?

Remember, it takes about 10 touches before someone will consider buying from you. If you only posting once a week, and we assuming your audience is seeing your content every time, it could take you 10 weeks to turn each person into a paying customer.

But we shouldn't assume your audience will see every post you make, especially on social media platforms where you're competing for their eyes alongside everyone else on their feeds. That means, if you only post 1x a week it could take longer than 10 weeks.

If you're posting once a week, share content 3-5x a week. If that sounds too overwhelming to handle don't worry, we'll address that in tomorrow's post.

3. Do you have a schedule that your audience can expect and eagerly wait for in anticipation?

Do you post the same day each week? If you post multiple times a week, do you have a theme for each day?

This may seem too routine, but people like to know what they can look forward to. If you have a schedule, they will follow you regularly because they know what days they can expect to get what they're looking for.

This builds trust too as they know they can rely on you to do what you say you will. If you do that for free content, they know they can expect that level of service when they sign up as a paying client.

4. Make it easy for potential clients to get in touch.

Do you have a business page where potential clients can message you? A link or button to schedule a free call with you? A contact form on your website?

If a client really wants to work for you, they will go on a hunt to find how they can get in touch or sign up. But it doesn't hurts to make it easier for the more luke-warm clients you could be missing out on otherwise.

5. Do you know how you interact best with your audience?

It's important to interact with your audience. Bonds are built over conversation, so you want to figure out how you can engage your audience in a conversation with you.

Are you a whiz at writing social media posts? Ask insightful questions and encourage people to comment. Respond to their comments!

Are you a star at creating engaging videos? Consider doing more live videos where you can talk to your audience in real time.

Do you shine when you talk to people 1-on-1? Make it easy for people to schedule quick 1-on-1 sessions to get to know you better and what you offer.

The Know, Like,Trust formula. That's what these 5 steps boil down to.

  • Share content more frequently so they know you

  • Use your strengths when you interact with them so they like you

  • Nourish them with value so they like and trust you

  • Post on a schedule that you stick to so they trust you

  • Then, make it easy for them to get in touch
